Jim, L, and I hit up Berryessa for some good times today. I felt a little rusty the first run through, but the second was better. I can't believe it's only the second time I've used my Diva board. I didn't have any really rough falls, which was a refreshing change, but soreness is inevitable. L is by far the pro out of the three of us, and it's fascinating just to watch him. Not that I have any chance whatsoever at emulating him, but it's helpful to see what he does. I was happy that I did okay. I still can't figure out how to jump, but I think I may have surface 180's under my belt. Of course, it's a completely different ballgame when I'm behind a boat, but at least my comfort level continues to rise with each trip.
Afterwards, we went to Napoli's for dinner. L says we always go to pizza when we're together, and so I was aiming for something different, but apparently the pizza thing is inevitable. The boys split an 18" combo and I got the 12" veggie with light cheese. Due to our insane levels of hunger, we attacked the food and got through more of it than usual. Well, I should say that L & I ate more than usual. Jim always eats a ton of food, so it's no surprise that he ate half of the 18" himself. L ate one slice shy of his half, so there was one leftover piece. I ate all but 2 slices of my pizza.
For the record, lunch was Yo Sushi, with my usual order. I had no time whatsoever to enjoy it, as I was rushing between my morning and afternoon court appearances. The line was absolutely insane--the place won an award for the choice sushi restaurant of the year through the local newspaper. I don't know if there's any connection, but makes sense to me.
