Linkin Park is awesome. What a great show they put on tonight! I mean, I was definitely a huge fan before, but now? They may be responsible for making me a fan of going to concerts, period. For the record, that is an amazing feat, as I hate crowds and noise and smelly people, all of which is in abundance at concerts. Granted, ear plugs may be my best friends, and I can't wait to hop in the shower to wash off all that nasty BO essence I've got from the sweaty rubbing going on, but yeah, it was an amazing night.
We went with L and L's friend A to the show. I ended up driving Jim's car, which I wanted to do in the first place. Our first food stop was for Chipotle. Jim groaned a bit, since he had just snacked on the remainder of his Randy's burrito earlier in the day. He ended up getting a regular Honey Bourbon Chicken sandwich on wheat bread from Quizno's, which is basically next to Chipotle. I got the vegetarian burrito with mild salsa, a bit of guac, sour cream, and lettuce. I honestly can't remember the last time I ate there, but I swear the burritos have shrunk over the years. Not that it really affects me much these days. But the fact that I had no problem finishing it is telling, especially since I had grazed through Jim's fridge and cupboards a couple hours earlier.
We also stopped by Mochii Yogurt. I was the only one happy with the stop. Jim was okay with it, but L and L's A didn't care for the place. I felt a little bad about that one. Jim and I got the peach yogurt with orange mango mochi, fresh strawberries, and fresh blueberries. I loved it. Jim didn't like the mochi as much, but I thought it was pretty good. L said it wasn't as good as our Fenton's trip, which, of course it wasn't, because Fenton's is the real deal ice cream and this was a healthy snack. And it doesn't hold a candle to mochi ice cream. But the upside to this stuff is that I can eat it without feeling guilty or sick. So in my mind, it's all good.
Anyway, I learned today that L cannot throw a football. At all. I mean, I'm no powder puff goddess, but at least I've mastered a spiral. Of course, having a brother forced the learning of it. Luckily for me, while L is like a brother, he isn't the flesh and blood type. Otherwise, I clearly wouldn't possess that skill today.
Like I said, the concert was amazing. I haven't been to a concert since BFD a few years ago, and while part of me was dreading it, I was also excited because I love Linkin Park. I just am not a big fan of the noise and the closeness to all those people. We had so much fun and were so freaking close to the band. I have to say that being close to them made a big difference, and I freaked when Mike came out on the catwalk and got super close to us. We were thiiis close to him! This was definitely a night to remember.
Random pearls of wisdom I gleaned from the evening:
1) Pearls and rock concerts don't go together. And when you couple the ensemble it with a scarf, you really look ridiculous.
2) Mosh pits are the most pointless thing ever.
3) There comes a time when you need to retire from going to concerts populated by the younger crowd.
4) Linkin Park is the coolest!!
